Role Description

WME is looking for a Head of Data & Data Products to build the next generation of our data capability. This role will lead the evolution of WME's data product strategy, self-service analytics, shared business definitions, domain intelligence, and the business roadmap for predictive and decision-support capabilities.

The goal is straightforward: turn WME's data into products and intelligence that help our people make better decisions, identify opportunities, serve clients, and grow the business.

What You'll Do:

  • Build WME's Data Product Strategy
    • Define and lead a data product roadmap tied to real business decisions and opportunities.
    • Turn important datasets into trusted, reusable products rather than inputs to individual reports.
    • Identify where recurring analytical needs should become self-service capabilities and where expert analysis remains the better answer.
    • Define the users, business meaning, quality expectations, access requirements, and success measures for major data products.
    • Measure adoption and business impact, and continuously improve what we build.
  • Make Trusted Data Easier to Use
    • Modernize WME's self-service analytics and reporting capabilities.
    • Make common business questions easier to answer without requiring an analyst for every request.
    • Give users the context they need to understand what a metric means, where it came from, how current it is, and when it should be used.
    • Establish shared definitions for critical business concepts and improve consistency across teams and systems.
    • Reduce duplicated and bespoke reporting through reusable datasets, metrics, and analytical products.
  • Turn Data Into Intelligence
    • Identify where WME's proprietary data can reveal opportunities, patterns, and insights that aren't visible through external market data alone.
    • Build domain intelligence capabilities that combine deep understanding of our businesses with strong analytical judgment.
    • Own the business roadmap for capabilities such as matching, predictive pricing, demand forecasting, relationship intelligence, recommendations, opportunity detection, and anomaly detection.
    • Determine when sophisticated modeling is warranted — and when a simpler analytical approach will produce a better result.
    • Define success in business terms such as revenue, conversion, pricing, productivity, targeting, and client outcomes.
  • Make More of Our External Data
    • Develop the product strategy for making those sources more reusable across WME.
    • Partner with research, engineering, procurement, and business teams to identify the sources that create the most value.
    • Help move external data from isolated reports into reusable datasets and capabilities.
    • Measure utilization and value to inform which sources we retain, expand, replace, or retire.
    • Explore opportunities to combine proprietary and external data in ways that create differentiated capabilities for WME and our clients.
  • Build the Function
    • Build and lead a focused team with strong analytical, business, and product judgment.
    • Develop domain expertise around the areas where WME has the greatest opportunity to create value from data.
    • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, Research, Operations, Cybersecurity, and business leaders across WME.
    • Establish clear standards for data quality, definitions, governance, measurement, and responsible use.
    • Create leverage through strong systems, shared capabilities, automation, and partnerships rather than simply adding headcount.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience leading a data, analytics, data product, or applied intelligence function.
  • A track record of turning data into products or capabilities that people actually use.
  • Strong product judgment and the ability to distinguish an interesting analytical problem from a valuable business problem.
  • Experience building self-service analytics or data products without sacrificing context, quality, or governance.
  • Strong analytical fluency and comfort challenging assumptions, evaluating evidence, and communicating uncertainty.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science/ML, and senior business leaders.
  • Technical fluency across modern data platforms, warehouses/lakes, APIs, BI, data quality, metadata, access controls, and predictive modeling concepts.
  • Experience working with third-party data providers and finding ways to reuse licensed data across products and workflows.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to translate complex analytical or technical ideas into clear business decisions.
  • Comfort operating in a complex organization where valuable knowledge is distributed across people, systems, and teams.
  • Experience in media, entertainment, sports, marketplaces, talent businesses, financial data, recommendation systems, or client-facing data products is a plus.

The Mindset We're Looking For

  • Data is a product.
  • A dataset creates value when people can find it, understand it, trust it, and use it repeatedly.
  • Start with the decision.
  • Be ambitious and practical.
  • Stay curious about the business.
  • Build for leverage.
  • Measure what matters.

What Success Looks Like

Over time, you'll help WME move from a world where data is often something people request to one where trusted information and intelligence are available where decisions happen. Common questions become self-service. Important business concepts have shared definitions. Proprietary and third-party data can be reused across products and workflows. Predictive capabilities move out of experiments and into everyday work. Our specialist teams spend more time on high-value thinking and less time servicing repeatable requests. Most importantly, WME gets better at using what it collectively knows to identify opportunities and advocate for our clients.

Compensation

  • Hiring Rate Minimum: $195,000 annually (minimum will not fall below the applicable state/local minimum salary thresholds)
  • Hiring Rate Maximum: $260,000 annually

Equal Opportunity Employer

WME is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, or religion or belief.

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
