Coordinator Influencer and Seeding (Action Sports)

As the Coordinator, Influencer, and Seeding (Action Sports), you will lead the planning, development, and execution of seeding initiatives to maximize the publicity of Vans’ product offering, including footwear, apparel, and accessories to media, key opinion leaders, tastemakers, and influencers from around the world. Additionally, you will support the Influencer Marketing approach for action sports stories outlined by the Action Sports PR and Influencer Manager. In this role, you will leverage public relations, digital communications, and your intrinsic knowledge of fashion, art, music, and action sports markets to amplify Vans’ lifestyle products and brand platforms.

As part of the Global Brand Communications team, you will support the creative ideation of seeding moments while researching and managing media and KOL relationships, tracking against seeding fulfillment, and landing earned media and social coverage.

You will also contribute to relevant competitor research and outreach for new talent opportunities to engage with new audiences that connect with Vans’ brand ethos.

As the Coordinator, Influencer, and Seeding (Action Sports), your role will fully manage the planning and execution of seeding moments in partnership with regional Seeding leads. You will measure success, leverage our reporting platforms, and share data with the MROI team.

How You Will Make a Difference

What you will do:

  • Support the development of influencer marketing tactics and lead the ideation and execution of global seeding moments for the Action Sports category through GTM and PR planning milestones.
  • Employ consumer insights, research, and data to inform influencer and seeding tactics and experiences that drive aspiration and demand for the brand in a fast-paced, evolving digital marketplace.
  • Achieve business objectives by delivering key metrics reporting and KPIs to increase media and earned social impressions and engagement. You will measure key wins and success quarterly and by project.

How you will do it:

  • Support the PR execution of global GTM communications strategies for product initiatives with the integration of influencer marketing and seeding tactics.
  • Coordinate relationship management of Global KOLs, influencers and industry tastemakers. Maintain daily tracking of Vans’ Global contact database for influencers.
  • Manage the strategic development and execution of the Global Seeding strategy including planning, logistics, and regional alignment. You will work in step with the Global Product Marketing team and partner closely with the Creative Services, Product Development, Brand Marketing and Environmental Design teams to ensure the seeding production is executed start to finish, and materials are ordered to meet weekly deadlines.
  • Deliver success through implementing competitor research, consumer insights and measurable ROI tracking for PR initiatives to further amplify investment and support seasonal brand initiatives.

  • Influencer marketing campaigns successfully planned and integrated into our seasonal comms tactics.
  • Earned social and media of major seeding moments or placements.
  • Established benchmarks to determine success of our influencer marketing and seeding tactics.
  • With your strong point of view on consumer insights, Vans’ communications strategies will be informed with relevant and up-to-date industry knowledge to continuously implement an inclusive, global cultural point of view within all earned storytelling opportunities.

Skills for Success

Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+ years of experience within Brand Communications, Global Product Marketing, PR or related experience in marketing strategy, brand communications, Influencer or Energy-based marketing.

Educational Position Requirements:

A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

What we expect you to already know:

  • Must have passion for and deep understanding of public relations—preferred to demonstrate expert knowledge of network engagement and industry case studies.
  • Excellent knowledge and personal affinity for global sneaker culture, fashion, music, art, and the Vans brand.
  • Must be aware of media industry and influencers that are relevant to the brand and can be engaged to help tell the Vans story.
  • Strategic mindset and ability to understand, assess & problem solve; has real experience managing complex projects, programs and activations that require strong leadership to align multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office, Keynote, Mac, Excel, Google/Cloud platforms, etc.
