The PLT Plant I Tire Room Setup Tech will:

Setup and adjust Passenger Tire building machines.  Perform machine checks, machine alignment, identification and storage of tooling items and minor machine maintenance. 

  1. Setup, detect, adjust, and correct equipment using electrical, mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.
  2. Make drum changes and drum set adjustments per schedule.
  3. Audit and oversee building of first tires after making changes or adjustments to equipment and approve for production.
  4. Make surveillance of assigned machines to maintain and monitor efficiency.
  5. Troubleshoot and make adjustments to assigned machines.
  6. Reduce down time on machines.
  7. Maintain daily records of machine so that changes, adjustments, and other pertinent information are documented and available for reference. 
  8. Effectively communicate with all Supervisors and Departmental Manager any malfunction or breakdown.
  9. Perform routine scheduled M.T.C. checks and corrections.
  10. Perform other duties as directed by Setup Lead Supervisor, Floor Supervisor and Department Manager.
  11. Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.

## Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous manufacturing experience or Associates Degree

Environment

  • Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures/ guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing protection and steel toe shoes. 
  • New Hires will likely be placed on a shift that includes evenings and weekends. 
  • The job is within a non-climate controlled environment where you will be exposed to temperature swings (hot/cold), forklift and pedestrian traffic, and noise. Majority of work completed in a high heat environment.
  • The role involves various physical tasks, including lifting, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and operating machinery, with comprehensive training provided.

The starting annual salary for this role is $64,613 a year.
