No other job posts for this day.

We are an LA-based visual media and creative agency assembling an agile, community-first consulting team for an upcoming multi-faceted public communications and outreach initiative.

The Role

We are seeking a sharp, culturally grounded Strategic Communications & Implementation Lead to drive our written narrative, public relations, and publication strategies. You will work side-by-side with our creative media production team and community engagement partners to shape how regional environmental initiatives are communicated to local residents, grassroots organizations, and civic stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Narrative & Strategic Planning: Develop clear, cohesive communications work plans, audience-specific messaging guides, and quarterly editorial calendars that highlight community benefits and ecological investments.
  • Public-Facing Publications: Write and edit compelling newsletters, community fact sheets, executive summaries, and digital articles that break down technical environmental projects into engaging, plain-language stories.
  • Media & Press Outreach: Draft press releases, media advisories, and talking points; coordinate outreach with hyper-local, community-based, and regional Southern California media outlets.
  • Stakeholder & Engagement Support: Collaborate on public survey design, synthesize community feedback from listening sessions into actionable summary reports, and ensure language access priorities are met across all communications collateral.
    Who You Are
  • Rooted in Los Angeles: You understand the cultural, geographical, and social fabric of Los Angeles County communities—especially urban corridor neighborhoods that have historically lacked green space and environmental investment.
  • A Master of Plain-Language Translation: You can read a dense technical or civic project brief and immediately spot the human story that matters to everyday working families.
  • Collaborative & Responsive: You thrive in agile creative teams, value direct and honest collaboration, and can hit deadlines reliably.
  • Experienced Communicator: Demonstrated background in public affairs, community advocacy, nonprofit communications, journalism, or boutique PR. Prior experience with public agencies, open space initiatives, or community development is a major plus.

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
