Master the Art of the Return

About Amazon & Our Dominant Culture

Amazon doesn't just dominate outbound shipping; we have revolutionized the returns process. Our Customer Returns (C-Rets) facilities represent the massive, complex world of reverse supply chain logistics. We are deeply committed to sustainability, refurbishing, and recovering value from returned goods. If you possess an incredible eye for detail and want Amazon jobs that focus on quality inspection rather than heavy lifting, the Reverse Logistics team is your perfect warehouse associate destination.

What Our Associates Say: Real Employee Reviews

The returns department is highly sought after for its focus on evaluation. A current associate shared on Glassdoor: "Processing returns is fascinating. You get to open the packages, inspect the electronics or apparel, and determine its fate using Amazon's software. It’s much less physically taxing than the outbound dock, but it requires serious brainpower and attention to detail. Plus, the healthcare and 401(k) benefits make these logistics careers incredibly secure."

Job Summary

As a Reverse Logistics Associate, you will be stationed at an individualized processing desk within a specialized fulfillment center zone. You will receive packages returned by customers, open them, and conduct rigorous, tech-guided inspections of the merchandise. You will grade the condition of the items (e.g., Sellable, Damaged, Defective) and route them for restocking, liquidation, or safe disposal. This role demands high integrity, sharp judgment, and excellent computer skills.

Comprehensive Responsibilities

  • Detailed Inspection: Unbox customer returns and meticulously inspect items for signs of wear, missing components, or fraudulent substitutions (e.g., ensuring a returned iPhone box actually contains an iPhone).
  • Software Grading: Utilize advanced, proprietary Amazon terminal software to answer guided questions about the item's condition, determining its exact disposition grade.
  • Repackaging & Routing: Carefully repackage items deemed "Customer Returns - Sellable" and apply new ASIN barcodes so they can be seamlessly reintegrated into active inventory.
  • Sustainability Execution: Route damaged or unsellable items to specific liquidation or recycling streams, strictly adhering to Amazon's global sustainability and hazardous materials protocols.

Industry-Leading Benefits

Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with dominant corporate benefits:

  • Unmatched Work-Life Balance: Benefit from set schedules, ample paid time off (PTO), and comprehensive paid parental leave.
  • Education & Growth: We pre-pay 95% of your college tuition, allowing you to advance your career while working.
  • Total Health: Complete medical, dental, vision, and employee assistance program coverage available on your first day.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older with a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and high ethical integrity.
  • Strong basic computer skills required to navigate grading software.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for extended periods and lift up to 49 pounds occasionally.
