Remote Snowflake Admin from Hospital Environment

Other Jobs To Apply

Seeking a highly experienced, hands-on Snowflake Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large hospital system implementing an enterprise Snowflake data platform.

We are specifically looking for someone who has personally implemented Snowflake within a hospital or large healthcare delivery system. This is not a general Snowflake development position or a role focused solely on maintaining an existing environment.

The ideal consultant has deep technical expertise in Snowflake architecture, administration, configuration, security, SQL performance optimization, and healthcare data integration. Experience integrating Epic Clarity data into Snowflake is especially important.

This is a technical, hands-on implementation role. We need someone who can configure, build, troubleshoot, optimize, and take ownership of the platform-not simply oversee the work.

What You Must Bring

  • Hospital System Snowflake Implementation: Direct, hands-on experience implementing or standing up Snowflake within a hospital, health system, or large healthcare delivery organization. Must be able to explain personal technical responsibilities throughout the implementation.
  • Advanced Snowflake Administration: 3+ years of hands-on Snowflake administration, including virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, configurations, access management, resource monitoring, and production support.
  • Snowflake Certification: SnowPro Advanced: Administrator certification required.
  • Expert-Level SQL: Advanced SQL development, complex query troubleshooting, execution-plan analysis, workload optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Epic Healthcare Data: Experience working with Epic Clarity, Caboodle, or other Epic clinical, financial, and operational data sources, preferably integrating this data into Snowflake.
  • Informatica: Hands-on experience supporting Informatica ETL/ELT integrations, ingestion pipelines, and data movement into Snowflake.
  • Security & Governance: Strong knowledge of Snowflake RBAC, data protection, auditing, HIPAA requirements, and healthcare data governance.
  • Implementation Ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently configure, troubleshoot, optimize, and support enterprise Snowflake environments through implementation and production transition.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Take a hands-on technical role in implementing and configuring an enterprise Snowflake platform for a large hospital system.
  • Configure Snowflake environments, databases, schemas, virtual warehouses, security roles, permissions, and platform settings.
  • Support integration and ingestion of Epic Clarity and other hospital data into Snowflake.
  • Work directly with Informatica pipelines, data engineering teams, and healthcare data sources to resolve integration issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex SQL queries, optimize workloads, improve performance, and manage Snowflake compute consumption.
  • Implement security, governance, monitoring, and access controls appropriate for sensitive healthcare data.
  • Resolve technical challenges throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and production stabilization.
  • Provide technical guidance, document configurations, and establish best practices for long-term platform administration.

The Background We're Looking For

We are especially interested in consultants who can demonstrate:

  • A Snowflake implementation completed within a hospital or large health system.
  • Direct involvement in the technical configuration and deployment-not just project management or architectural oversight.
  • Experience moving Epic Clarity or other hospital operational and clinical data into Snowflake.
  • The ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex Snowflake performance, security, and integration issues.
  • Experience taking a Snowflake platform from implementation through production readiness and ongoing administration.

Candidates whose experience is limited to Snowflake reporting, SQL development, or routine administration without healthcare implementation experience will not be the right fit.

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
