The Role The Short-Form Video Editor, YouTube & Social is responsible for creating highly engaging social media content based on provided concepts, scripts, and brand guidelines. In this role you will produce work for clients such as Bryson DeChambeau and other brand partners and talent. For this role, we are looking for someone who understands storytelling, pacing, retention, audience psychology, and how to turn footage into videos people actually want to watch. In this role, you will work closely with our lead editor and project leads. Where you will share and improve your skills, as well as communicate to improve your proficiency in video editing. In this role, you should be comfortable handling foundational post-production work which includes but is not limited to: organizing footage, syncing audio, and managing project files. You should also be capable of more advanced creative editing responsibilities including: story structure, pacing, sound design, color correction/grading, graphics, and any other elements required to create impactful content. The right person for this role lives and breathes short-form content! You study videos, editing techniques, hooks, pacing, formats, audience behavior, and analytics because you care about getting better, making top-of-the-line viral content, and making a huge impact in the digital space. Lastly, this person aligns with the culture and goals of Icon Global Media. What You’ll Do Short-Form Editing Ingest, organize, sync, label, and manage footage, audio, project files, and assets when needed Shape videos around a strong, clear storyline while intentionally amplifying key engagement drivers to create top-performing social content. Build edits that feel native to each platform, with strong pacing, reactions, tension, humor, emotional beats, and viewer payoff Rework long-form videos into short-form edits that feel intentional, not like random cutdowns Add on-screen graphics, visual effects, transitions, subtitles, music, sound effects, and other editing elements to enhance viewer experience Perform audio cleanup, leveling, mixing, and polish Prepare final exports, maintain clean project organization, and follow Icon’s workflow systems, naming conventions, and post-production processes Improvement & Quality Control Use performance data to understand what worked, what did not, and how future edits can improve Stay current with editing styles, creator trends, sports content, challenge formats, and platform changes Analyze top-performing creators and channels to understand what is working and why Review your own edits before handoff to catch errors, technical issues, and missed opportunities. Ensure audio is synced and clean, visuals are polished, graphics are accurate, color is consistent, and final exports meet or bring up the channel standard Collaborate with the lead editor and project leads to improve each video Bring strong creative ideas to the table and stay proactive instead of waiting for a task list Adapt your style to fit the channel, talent, video concept, and performance goals What We Are Looking For Required Experience 3+ years of experience in video editing for social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or other relevant platforms) Expert in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, & Photoshop Required Skills Top-notch organizational skills and a strong ability to multitask Being incredibly accountable, and meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality Collaborative worker who can work in a fast-paced environment and bring new creative ideas to the table The ability to take feedback quickly, professionally, and with a solutions-first mindset Strong skills in storytelling, flow/pacing, sound design, music selection, and color correction to ultimately elevate emotional impact and viewer engagement Preferred Experience working with professional athletes, sport franchises, and creators Passion for pop culture and knowledge of the latest social media trends Process oriented with the ability to optimize workflows and improve operational efficiency.
