This will be following Onsite with flexibility work model.This dual product/project focused position leads the overall technical coordination of lower complexity product development activities and is accountable for the project management of technical risk and quality of the product up to and including early production. This position integrates the requirements of the many interdisciplinary and cross functional stakeholders of product development, often involving difficult decisions that impact cost and delivery without sacrifice to the quality expectations of the value package profile. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:The successful applicant will be responsible delivering medium to large engineering projects in the power generation space. This role requires a blend of electrical power engineering, control systems engineering, systems engineering, commissioning, mentoring and project/task management skills. This role will have no direct reports.This role requires travel both within Malaysia and occasional international travel. This typically involves travel to a Cummins or sub-supplier facility or to a construction site, and providing engineering expertise in the construction phase or witnessing or performance of testing/commissioning. Some work sites may be in remote areas.In support of wider power generation projects, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to lead a multi-discipline team of engineers and to support other Lead Engineers in the deployment of major projects.Provide engineering to support complex projects, provide technical solution/proposal,Mentor junior engineers and engineering interns,Be the key conduit and liaison for Project Managers to plan and direct works for the more junior engineers in support of project goals,Assess a project for required engineering input,Identify and manage technical risk within a project,Develop an engineering delivery plan appropriate to the project's needs,Work with other engineers towards the delivery of other projects as necessary,Interface with customers and sub-suppliers on engineering matters,Interface with construction and commissioning teams on technical mattersTo be successful in this role you will need the following:Product Development Execution, Monitoring and Control - Plans, coordinates, and executes product development aligned to requirements; monitors cross-functional delivery; manages risk and quality across the full product lifecycle.Product Function Modeling, Simulation and Analysis - Uses and interprets computational tools to assess product capability against system, sub-system, and component requirements.Product Problem Solving - Resolves product issues using data-driven methods that protect the customer, identify root causes, and prevent recurrence.Product Verification and Validation Management - Develops validation plans, manages product risk, evaluates test and simulation results, and provides technical recommendations supported by documentation.System Requirements Engineering - Translates stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, defines acceptance criteria, tracks changes, and assesses lifecycle impact on scope, schedule, and resources.Systems Thinking - Defines system boundaries, context, interfaces, and lifecycle; analyzes interactions to predict behavior and drive effective system-level solutions.Builds Networks - Establishes strong formal and informal relationships internally and externally.Communicates Effectively - Delivers clear, audience-specific communication across multiple channels.Decision Quality - Makes timely, well-informed decisions that drive progress.Drives Results - Consistently delivers outcomes, even in challenging conditions.Manages Complexity - Synthesizes complex and conflicting information to solve problems effectively.Resourcefulness - Secures and utilizes resources efficiently to achieve objectives.Project Management - Balances scope, schedule, and resources to maximize project impact and outcomes.Values Differences - Recognizes and leverages diverse perspectives and cultures to strengthen the organization.Preferred Qualification:A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (master's degree preferred).Extensive experience in previous power projects (power generation, green energy, distribution, substation, high voltage, switchgear, mining, rail, defense, heavy industry or similar),Create, review and critique designs, commissioning test plans, procedures and reports,Adhere to ISO 9001 quality work practices,Assess engineering risks in accordance with ISO 31000,Develop and maintain engineering deliverable plans while tracking task progress for their team as a key conduit for the Project Management team,Self managed, good planning and organization skillsProject task planning and basic project management skills,Good written and verbal communication skills,Problem solving skills,Customer facing skills,A current driver's license,An interdependent safety culture,Desirable additional skills might include:Previous experience with diesel enginesAutoCAD, Creo, and/or MS Project experienceFamiliarity with electrical protection relays and high voltage equipmentProfessional training delivery experienceConstruction site experienceThis role is not eligible for cross border relocation.Job EngineeringOrganization Cummins Inc.Role Category On-site with FlexibilityJob Type Exempt - ExperiencedReqID 2435682Relocation Package No100% On-Site No
